The horror comedy “Totally Killer” adds a time travel element to the slasher movie formula by sending its protagonist back to the 1980s, the heyday of the slasher movie.

As the film opens, it's the 35th anniversary of the murder spree of the Sweet Sixteen Killer, who killed three teen girls and then disappeared to never be found. In the intervening years, the town has commoditized the tragedy with Halloween costumes inspired by the killer and a podcast offering tours of the locations of the deaths.

Alec Kerr, the film critic of The Conway Daily Sun, and Jason Stevens of Smokin' J's BBQ review "Totally Killer" and given other recommendations for similar movies, including "Happy Death Day," "Freaky," and "The Final Girls."
