The days are getting shorter and colder, but don’t put away your running shoes just yet. There are still a few good races left in the season before people start trading in their running shoes for snowshoes and skis.

Last Saturday, we took a trek over to Waterville Valley to run the Black Bear Half Marathon. A challenging course took us over roads, Nordic ski trails, single and double track, and bike trails, and made for a fun event.
Take the kids to Story Land on Monday, Sept. 2 for the annual Labor Day Believe in Books Literacy Foundation Fun Run. The race starts at 9 a.m. and some of the Story Land characters will be there.
The sixth annual Dole 3-Miler Race took place on Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Mountain Division Trail in Fryeburg, Maine, and attracted a host of runners of all ages and abilities.
