CONWAY — Conway does retain students from advancing to the next grade, but the Conway School Board does not know how many students are retained each year. That’s something Randy Davison, the longest-serving member of the board, wants to know.

At the board’s July 27 meeting, members reviewed and ultimately unanimously approved a policy “Promotion and Retention of Students — procedures for promotion and retention of students." Before the board had an opportunity to discuss it, Steve Angers, a member of the Conway Municipal Budget Committee, shared a story during public comments.
