Avengers: Endgame

“Avengers: Endgame” is the culmination of 21 films spanning 11 years. (COURTESY OF DISNEY)

To quote Hawkeye actor Jeremy Renner when avoiding “Avengers: Endgame” spoilers during interviews: “It begins … and it ends.” That is actually a perfect way to sum up the Marvel Cinematic Universe up to this point. What began with “Iron Man” in 2008 is ending with “Avengers: Endgame.”

While the MCU will continue beyond “Endgame,” there’s a legitimate sense of finality to the film. There are consequences and deaths that are permanent. The franchise will definitely move forward, but it will be forever changed.
