Summer is just around the corner, and it's time to think about fun in the water. Swimming is a great sport and pastime, but can be dangerous for the unskilled. In the United States, more than 8,000 people die from drowning each year. This tragic event claims the lives of over 1,500 American children each year; most of these children are either under 4 years of age or in their adolescence. While some of these events occur as the result of motor vehicle accidents, a large number of drowning incidents are preventable.
