Are you a visual artist living or working in the Mount Washington Valley?ArtWorks-NH, a program of MicroCredit-NH, invites visual artists and owners of arts-related businesses from the area to an afternoon of discussion and planning for the visual arts community.Visioning the Visual Arts: Building Valley Businesses will be held on Thursday, Aug. 24, from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Salyards Center for the Arts on 110 Main Street in Conway Village. The event is free of charge and is sponsored by ArtWorks-NH, the Mount Washington Valley Arts Association and the Arts Alliance of Northern New Hampshire. This interactive session will feature activities and discussion to assess the business development needs and desires of the visual arts community, including how an arts organization can provide support. Participants are encouraged to bring their business cards and marketing materials, as there will be opportunities to network. Additionally, attendees should bring a few magazines for a collage project during the session. With such a vibrant visual arts community in the valley, our organizations came together to assess how best to serve these artists as they develop their businesses, said Claudia Needham, MicroCredit-NHs East Central regional manager. We decided to create this interactive forum to hear directly from visual artists, open the lines of communication and share resources.Registration for this event is required, as space is limited. To register, contact ArtWorks-NH at 1-800-769-3482.
