TAMWORTH — The Barnstormers Theatre concludes its 94th season with an uneven but entertaining adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice,” which opened Thursday, Aug. 22, in Tamworth with daily performances (except Monday) through Aug. 31.
Adapted by Kate Hamill, this version of Austen’s novel of manners and romantic pursuits in 19th century England often takes a broader comedic approach. While still being a period piece, Hamill’s script does add contemporary attitudes and humor.
