TAMWORTH — “Educating Rita,” The Barnstormers Theatre second show of its 94th season, opened Thursday, July 11, in Tamworth and is an exploration of friendship, transformation and the mentor/mentee dynamic.
Alec Kerr, entertainment editor for The Conway Daily Sun, is joined by Sarah Rozene, the artistic director of The Barnstormers Theatre, to preview this summer's season at The Barnstormers Theatre.
Written by Willy Russell, “Educating Rita” is a two-hander focused on the relationship of Frank (Dale Place), a tutor of English in his 50s whose disillusioned outlook on life drives him to drink and bury himself in his books, and Rita (Sarah Corey), a forthright 29-year-old hairdresser who is eager to learn.
