“Dumbo,” the first of three live-action remakes of classic Disney animated films coming this year (“Aladdin” arrives May 24 and “The Lion King” on July 19), is a charming reworking of the 1941 original.

This marks director Tim Burton’s second Disney remake following 2010’s “Alice in Wonderland,” the billion dollar box office behemoth that kicked off this current remake trend.
