CONWAY — The federal comment period on a proposal to rescind the 2001 Roadless Rule has now been extended to Oct. 6. The comment deadline was Sept. 21 before the USDA granted a 15-day extension.
The USDA is proposing to rescind the 2001 Roadless Area Conservation Rule, which generally prohibits road construction and reconstruction and timber harvesting in inventoried roadless areas, subject to exceptions.
