ALBANY — A proposed amendment to the state’s four-year transportation program calls for removing a planned Route 16/Route 113 intersection improvement project in Albany, but the state transportation commissioner said Wednesday the project will remain in the program after all. 

The confusion stemmed from proposed Amendment No. 6 to the 2025-28 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program, or STIP, which shows Albany project 45469 being removed. The draft amendment was prepared Aug. 12, before lawmakers overrode the governor’s veto of the state’s Ten-Year Transportation Improvement Plan on Aug. 19.
