The campaign slogan of our Democratic friends running for election this fall is a catchy one: They claim they will lower your costs starting with property taxes. But they give extremely limited proposals of how.
Republicans and free staters, pretending to be Republicans, have had control for what, about 10 years? (Why do republicans let free staters get away with that? They have extremely different philosophies, don’t they?) Anyway, during that time property taxes and fees have continued to go up. Taxes have been cut: meals and rooms tax, interest and dividends (which doesn’t help most, mostly the wealthy) taxes cut for large corporations, (following Trumps actions, at least he gets massive contributions from these companies.) What do I get, more property taxes. You say that people will move to Florida, good, enjoy the sales tax.
So with all this revenue that you say we have due to tax cuts, why not pass a law that makes the state use some of this massive revenue to pick up part of some things towns are responsible for? I moved to Tamworth from Bethlehem a few years ago, in Bethlehem, $750 to register 2 cars. Maybe help towns with that, any suggestions?
So you say after 10 years of Republican and free stater control, I should double down and vote for them again, the people who have done nothing to lower my property taxes and fees, done nothing to improve the schools.
No I don’t think so, I’m willing to try something different. (By the way, I’m not a Democrat).
