TAMWORTH — SAU 13 will operate with an interim superintendent for the rest of the 2026-27 school year. Less than three weeks after new superintendent Dr. Kathleen Scholand stepped down for personal reasons on Oct. 2, the SAU 13 Joint Board hired Dr. Ronna HasBrouck of Hampton, who has more than 40 years of experience in education. She started on Monday.

James Curran, chair of the Madison School Board and the SAU Joint Board, which is made up of members of the Freedom, Madison and Tamworth school boards, shared the news on Oct. 1, Scholand’s last day on the job.
