OSSIPEE — A nearly 3-mile stone-dust trail that is to be built next to the Conway Branch rail is behind schedule due to a labor shortage, but promoters vow it will be completed this fall.Â
At a meeting in May of the Conway Branch Rail Trail Advisory Committee at the Freight House building in Center Ossipee, the state Bureau of Trails unveiled its preferred short-term plan: constructing a gravel trail alongside existing railroad tracks between between Moultonville Road and Route 16, while leaving the rails in place. Eventually the trail could end in Conway.Â
