ALBANY — When you drive the Kancamagus Highway late at night, especially in the shoulder season when tourists have gone home and the forest presses close to the road, you may notice a faint glow from a window in a lonely little house tucked beside the woods. Many people do not see it, but those who see the flickering flame and know of the following story are unlikely to forget what they saw.
