CONWAY — Selectmen gratefully accepted $40,000 in donations from the family of the late C. David Weathers, whom they voted to honor by naming the Whitaker Homesite ball field after him.
Weathers, 79, died in March at Maine Medical Center in Portland. He served on the Conway Board of Selectmen for 22 years before losing his seat to Ryan Shepard in 2023. He was also involved in town life in many other ways, including serving about 50 years with Conway Fire and Rescue, volunteering with the Recreation Department’s youth sports programs and serving on the Conservation Commission.
