FRYEBURG, Maine — A meeting to consider modifying a monument built to commemorate an 18th century battle between Capt. John Lovewell and the Pequawket tribe will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Hastings Community Center.

Attendees will include Fryeburg Selectman Greg Huang-Dale, town parks and beatification committee member Barbara Anderson, Nancy Ray of the Fryeburg Historical Society and a neighbor who lives near the monument, Susan Pendery.
