CONCORD — Gov. Chris Sununu has announced that President Joe Biden granted his request for a major disaster declaration in response to an April nor’easter that resulted in significant costs to local communities in Belknap, Carroll, Rockingham and Sullivan counties.

In Carroll County, Freedom, Effingham and Ossipee were particularly hard hit with storm and flooding damage that took place from April 3 -5.
