CONWAY — While a manhunt continued Thursday for Robert R. Card, 40, of Bowdoin, Maine, the suspect named in Wednesday’s mass shootings in Lewiston, Maine, that killed at least 18 at a bowling alley and restaurant, people across the Maine and New Hampshire region were trying to make sense of the tragedy. Classes were closed in Fryeburg for the day. Initially, there were concerns that the suspect might have ties to MSAD 72.

Card is a certified firearms instructor and a member of the Army Reserves, according to law enforcement.
