Carol Phillippe Kramer of Silver Lake passed away peacefully at home on the morning of March 15, 2026. Known for her curious nature, she applied her zoology degree from DePauw University towards a career as a researcher for Time-Life Books in the late '50s and early '60s. Following her marriage to Ted Moulton Kramer of Ossipee, N.H., in 1968, she pursued her passion for singing, not only in church choir groups, but also with small choral groups from such diverse locations as North Carolina to Rhode Island to Ohio and New Hampshire.
Carol will be remembered for her devotion to the PEO sisterhood, which helps financially support women in furthering their education. She served in various roles, culminating in the New England district presidency. She served on numerous non-profit boards in the Mount Washington Valley, including Arts Jubilee, Starting Point and the Madison Scholarship Fund, which provides all Madison graduates with financial aid for continuing their education. She chaired the scholarship committee for many years and devoted much time to the evolution of the scholarship into the 501(c)(3) organization that it is today.
