CONWAY — March was certainly acting like a lion Friday, when trees and utility poles were felled by strong winds. The power went out in North Conway and Intervale at around 1:20 p.m. and wasn't restored until after 5 p.m.

The National Weather Service reported a wind gust on Mount Washington of 104 mph Friday morning. In Bartlett, a wind gust of 40 mph was reported. In Moultonborough and Rochester, there were gusts of 59 mph.
