My daughter, Rachel, returned last fall from her thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. Along her journey and while recovering from an injury in North Carolina, she met an older couple — "trail angels," as those who help hikers are known.

She stayed on their farm, helped with chores, learned and recoupe and during this time was given access to their Volkswagen Eurovan camper. (You knew a car connection was coming). The couple had purchased the Eurovan camper new some years before and enjoyed their own nomadic lifestyle, seeing the country alone and with their now-grown grand kids.
