TAMWORTH — It wouldn’t be a season at the Barnstormers Theatre in Tamworth without an Agatha Christie play. This year’s offering is “Toward Zero,” a tricky seaside murder mystery that is likely to keep even those familiar with the Christie formula guessing until the final scene.

Told in six scenes stretched over three acts, “Toward Zero,” which opened Thursday, Aug. 10, with performances through Aug. 19, spends Act 1 establishing characters and motives; Act 2 reveals the murder and starts revealing the suspect; and Act 3 flips everything we thought was true on its head. Christie’s play, based on her novel, is full of red herrings and delicious wit.
