EATON — John Hartman, a proud conservative, and Quddus Snyder, a liberal columnist, don't agree on much, but they have now united against a common foe: a 116-acre logging operation set to take place on Lyman Mountain.

The operation, which is entirely legal, is proposed to take place on the side of the mountain above the town's iconic Little White Church. Hartman and Snyder say the logging will not only threaten the view, but properties below could be flooded and Crystal Lake, named for its pristine waters, could look more like coffee.
