TAMWORTH — Barnstormers Theatre offers up the third show of its 89th season, “The Man Who Came to Dinner,” a three-act comedy from George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart, the duo behind “You Can’t Take It With You.”

Set in the late 1930s, “The Man Who Came to Dinner,” which opened Thursday with performances through Aug. 3, focuses on Sheridan Whiteside (Frank Ridley), a boorish, acerbic New York radio personality who, on his way to dinner at the home of a well-to-do Ohio factory owner Ernest Stanley (Blair Hundertmark), slips on some ice and injures his hip.
