On a warm and balmy June evening, perhaps before or after an evening shower, I hear the lullaby in the air. The melodic trills of gray tree frogs (Hyla versicolor) come down forth from trees and shrubs near the edge of a wetland. There are many who hear this pleasing sound and think it is the sound of birds or toads or some other unknown nocturnal creature.
