“Nearly 90 percent of all plant species form below-ground unions with fungi.” So says Dr. David Haskell from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn.

While some in forest ecology already know this, it is still a fascinating topic for the rest of us, who only scan forest trees with our eyes, regarding their beautiful existence above ground. So, we register a half-truth seeing the trees in front of us, only viewing a part of the network that brings this verdant community into being.
