BARTLETT — Most of the time, the public never learns why someone resigns from within the school district. School officials say it’s a personnel matter and cannot share the reason. But at the board's April 14 meeting, under public comments, first-grade teacher Amanda Cartan shared why she submitted her resignation last month.

Reading from a prepared statement, she said: “I've taught at JBES for six years now, and through extensive turnover year after year in the school, as someone inside of the building living out the repercussions of board decisions, community votes,” she said, “I feel I have a pretty important viewpoint of what factors are most drastically impacting our school.”
