CHOCORUA — Mountain Top’s last community orchestra concert of the season will be held at The Preserve in Chocorua at 88 Philbrick Neighborhood Road, at 7:30pm on Sunday, June 2.
Listeners will explore the world of Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn, two masters of early Romantic music, in a program conducted by Dr. Julia Howell. The performance will include two energetic overtures (Fanny Mendelssohn’s Overture in C and Felix’s “Hebrides” Overture) as well as an atmospheric set of Lieder by Fanny in a new orchestral arrangement, featuring Mary Bastoni as vocal soloist, and selections from Felix’s well-loved virtuosic and dramatic Violin Concerto in E Minor with Aaron Pettengill, violin soloist.
