JACKSON — The Whitney Community Center in Jackson will come alive with music, laughter and lively steps on Saturday, Oct. 25, from 7-9 pm, as caller Eric Rollnick joins forces with the White Mountain Ceili Band for a traditional Barn Dance. This all-ages community event invites everyone — seasoned dancers and first-timers alike — to enjoy an evening of spirited folk dancing and toe-tapping tunes.
Barn dances, sometimes called contra or community dances, are a time-honored New England tradition. With easy-to-learn steps and group participation, they create a joyful atmosphere where no partner or prior experience is required. Rollnick is known for his clear and encouraging style, making the dances accessible and fun for everyone.
