OSSIPEE — Carroll County Superior Court Judge Mark Attorri heard a recent case where incumbent state Rep. Jonathan Smith (R-Ossipee), in his capacity as a town official, is attempting to have his Republican primary rival Steve Brown removed from his temporary home for allegedly failing to adhere to the town zoning ordinance and building code.

Attorri closed the trial by giving both sides an opportunity to submit written summaries of their arguments and a chance to respond to each other. The responses are due by the end of August. At stake is whether Brown can live in his current home and whether or not he has to pay penalties and attorneys fees.
