“The Flash,” the latest film in the DC Extended Universe, made $55 million domestically on its opening weekend and, as of June 19, has made $135 million worldwide.

That may seem like a hit, but with a $200 million budget that doesn’t bode well for the film’s profitability. The general rule of thumb is a film needs to double its production costs to break even.
