FRYEBURG — The Fryeburg Academy boys' lacrosse team posted its best record ever last year, going 7-5 and reaching the Western Maine Class B quarterfinals. With a number of veterans returning to the fold and a new head coach, the Raiders hope to continue their quest to be one of the upper echelon teams in the sport.

Matt Haley, a 2003 graduate of the Academy, where he was a stellar ice hockey player, takes over the program from Rick White after two years. Haley is upbeat about his new team. Haley is quite familiar with the bulk of his squad as it's not the first time many of these players have suited up for him.
