Cameron eyes his senior year, shot at the NFL

CONWAY — Jacob Cameron has long dreamed of getting the opportunity to play in the National Football League. Heading into his senior year at Husson University in Bangor, Maine, at 6’2” and 315 lb, Jake is ranked the No. 17 offensive lineman in all of Division III. He knows he can make his dream a reality, but he needs a strong senior season to catch the eyes of the scouts. That season, hopefully, comes to fruition but with the COVID-19 pandemic will there be football in the fall?

“Every week we have two Zoom meetings with our position coaches to find out what’s happening,” the North Conway resident, who is the son of Julie Irish and Matt Cameron, said by phone from his apartment in Bangor, Maine, on Friday. “August 12 is when we’re scheduled to start our preseason. As of now, we’re told everything is a go.”
