CONWAY — The Kennett High softball team is playing well, but there are little things the Eagles need to fine-tune to take their game to another level. Coach Peter Ames is convinced that if his troops can hone some of the “nuances” of the game, they’ll be tough to beat. KHS went 1-1 on the week, dropping a tough 6-5 contest on the road in Amherst to Souhegan on Friday on a misplayed fly ball.

Earlier in the week, on Wednesday, the Eagles rolled past rival Kingswood 19-0 in Wolfeboro in five innings due to the 15-run mercy rule. Senior Olivia Stewart tossed a one-hitter, while every Kennett starter collected at least one hit.
