PENACOOK — The Kennett High boys’ basketball made a statement on opening night last Friday. The Eagles went on the road and beat highly-regarded Merrimack Valley 66-61 in Penacook to kick off the Division II season.

The statement was simple: every shot will be contested, and teams will face 32 minutes of in-your-face defense.
