FRYEBURG — The Fryeburg Academy golf team consists of 10 members: three seniors, three juniors, three sophomores and a freshman. Down from 15 golfers in 2017, Coach Chris Dutton enjoys the benefits of being able to do more evaluating and one-on-one teaching, working with certain skills.

It's been a solid preseason to date as players are getting into form. From last year’s starters, five returners have gotten experience in matches. That will be a key to begin the year with such a smaller group; most have gotten match play experience in the past, so it won't be an adjustment to the nerves or overwhelming come match day. The biggest adjustment will be who plays where in the lineup.
