FRYEBURG — The Fryeburg Academy girls’ soccer team opened its regular season at home last Friday with a 3-1 victory over Poland (0-1). The solid performance featured extensive periods of Raiders' ball control and play in the Poland end of the field.

Fryeburg (1-0) opened the scoring in the 18th minute when attacking midfielder Luna Barrionuevo made a great turn around a defender before lofting a shot from 18 yards out beyond the goalkeeper's reach.
