FRYEBURG — Cape Elizabeth used its size advantage to slip past the Fryeburg Academy girls’ basketball team on opening night, 30-25, in Fryeburg on Friday night.

The Capers took the early lead by continually passing the ball inside to their bigs, who either scored, rebounded and scored or were fouled and hit their free throws. The Raiders outplayed Cape in the open floor, with a high-energy defense that slowed the Capers down, causing the visitors to turn the ball over. FA is very athletic and Coach Kristen Stacy’s troops forced Cape into double teams, where they turned the ball over.
