FRYEBURG — Senior Caleb Bowles recently set a new record for career goals scored for the Fryeburg Academy boys’ lacrosse team.
The previous record was set in (2017) by Jeremiah Schrader with 107 career goals. Bowles currently has the record at 109.
Coach Matt Haley has coached Bowles in middle school and throughout his high school career. He said, “It has been a pleasure to watch him grow as a player, and as a young man.”
Haley added “Caleb has put in a lot of time and effort to be the best player he can be.”
The season is winding down with only three games left in the regular season.
The Raiders had recently dropped three games in a row against league powerhouses, including falling 12-6 and 9-4 to Gray-New Gloucester (10-1) on May 23 and 29; losing 18-4 to Cape Elizabeth (12-0) on May 28.
Those setbacks came on the heels of beating a good Lawrence (4-8) team 13-11 on May 18.
The Raiders (5-7) closed out the regular season at St. Doms (0-12) on Friday with an 11-7 win.
