THOMPSON AND MESERVE'S PURCHASE — Score one for the Cog Railway.

In the second annual Race the Cog up Mount Washington on Saturday, the iconic Cog Railway got a measure of revenge. After finishing second last year to Joe Gray, 39, of Colorado Springs, Colo., who won his seventh straight Delta Dental Mount Washington Road Race on June 17, the train, under the direction of engineer Mike Scales with brakeman Scott Unsworth reached the summit first to earning bragging rights.
