One of the things that gets me most excited about a new home is the prospect of tackling the various remodeling projects that inevitably arise. And I don’t think I’m alone in this either. While there are some buyers who just want the “move-in-ready” home, there are plenty of wackos like myself that enjoy the challenge of a fix-er-upper (not to mention the price).

If you have ever gone this route yourself, you know there are plenty of landmines scattered about a home that can catch you off guard. These unforeseen obstacles can truly make or break a project. I think I have used my allotted amount of clichés for one article, so let’s dig in.
