On Tuesday morning, I drove north on Route 16 past Berlin to Milan. I was to walk a trail in the Milan Community Forest with Arthur Josephson, a resident of West Milan and member of the Milan Community Forest Committee.

Josephson had seen a few hiking columns of mine in The Berlin Sun and wanted to promote trails in the Milan Community Forest. Two are open to the public — the Androscoggin View Trail next to the Nansen Ski Jump and the more remote Bobcat Trail. We were to walk the 2.4-mile Bobcat Trail.
