PLYMOUTH – In a contest worthy of a championship game, the Berlin-Gorham and Kennett High boys’ hockey teams treated fans to a thriller in the Division III semifinals at Hanaway Rink at Plymouth State University in Plymouth last Wednesday. The top-seeded Mountaineers rallied from a 2-1 deficit in the third period to edge the boys from Conway 3-2.

The Eagles, the No. 5 seeds, appeared to have tied the game with 1:33 to play when sophomore Liam Kennett found pay dirt after a terrific coast-to-coast rush by senior captain Brady Parsons, but the goal was nullified. The referees ruled the Berlin-Gorham goal had come off its moorings before the puck crossed the goal line, making it truly a game of inches.
