North Country Angling - Crystal Lake

Crystal Lake is home to some large brown trout for the ice angler. (LESLIE ANGERS PHOTO)

Mother Nature has been kind to ice anglers so far this winter. Long cold days and nights have allowed waterbodies to freeze up and provide safe ice fishing conditions. For the first time in years, ice fishing tournaments look to be happening as planned. Ice fishing tournaments are run for the benefit of some hard-working charities. Participating in an ice fishing tournament is a great way to get outdoors on a winter day and to help those who are less fortunate.

Here are the planned ice fishing tournaments authorized by Fish and Game.
