Perhaps the biggest story of the year was the fire that destroyed a wing of the Red Jacket Mountain View Resort in May, but other major stories included: Leavitt’s Country Bakery’s mural being deemed illegal by the town; Democrats doing surprisingly well in the November election; public notables retiring, including Town Manager Tom Holmes, Chamber Executive Director Janice Crawford and longtime animal control officer Betty Holmes; a new Market Basket going up, and a new roundabout built to accommodate it; selectmen deciding to charge for parking in North Conway; and two young women dying tragically — Brooke Barron in a crash at the Conway Library and Esmae Doucette, shot in Jackson.

This week’s TeleTalk question is: What do you think were the top stories of 2022?
