Red Tree Woman

To the editor:It is time for Wiyan Chun Luta to step aside and let Red Tree Woman speak to Tom McLaughlin. I was sent this column and after much thoughts and prayers I find I will write to this man. I am sick and tired of people doing this. They scream and holler about their injustices of life, well, I think it's time again for this Indian to make her voice of truth heard loud and clear. The path of peace is being set aside for this one and any others who want to cross over. I have been quiet in my fights with these ones too long. It is time for my voice to be heard again and again. It is time to fight. I will not be the quiet part of the wars that go on toward my people. I will step out in front where I used to stand. I ask you to voice your words to the ignorance of this man and all who speak and act as he does. It has gone on long enough.If they want to hear the sounds of war drums, so be it. If they want to taste their own blood, so be it, because it will not be ours this time. We had our wounded knee, our sand creek; we had all the slaughters we will take. Now come on wasichu, Tom Mclaughlin. Let's see the color of your eyes. Let's see if you can face truth. You are a teacher of children and you act in this manneryou call us savages. I am thinking you need to look again. You play a bad game. You're gonna lose. You want to know why Indian's open casinos? Because it is on their land! It is their right. You and others like you took it from us, now you complain because we want to better ourselves. Go figure. Why do you not make up your mind or is it so little you cannot? You compare us to Europeanssay we slaughtered each other. I think you need to look again. Yes, we did have fights among other tribes, but we did so with honor and respect. We did not ride into a village and slaughter the old and cut out babies and women's uteruses and parade down a street warring them. I think there is a big difference.Of course with one as ignorant as you, I doubt you could see the difference. You wasichus scream for us to better ourselves then, when we do, you start screaming. What do you want? People like you need to crawl back in the dark hole you came from and leave us alone. If you think your life is so tough, try being an Indian when there's so many ignorant people like you in this world. You're one of the reason's I praise creator i am not white.
