Ted Morgan: Are we headed down the road to a totalitarian country?

The logic of the letter-writer is faulty, but it is what the Left is using because their arguments against the Trump agenda failed at the polls and they have nothing left but to try to stoke fear in their remaining supporters.

History is important but coincidences or parallels do not prove causation. Trump is doing extraordinary things because the Democrats have forced him to, otherwise the American people would be left with the mess that Obama and Biden created with no recourse.

So, for example, Biden let in tens of millions of undocumented and unvetted individuals. Forget all the pain and hardship that caused to many American citizens. The fact is that we have people in the country who should not be here.

The Democrats figured that this was irreversible. That is why they lied to us repeatedly that the border was secure. That is why the media failed to cover the story for years. Not until Fox News showed videos week after month to document the mass migration did enough people wake up and realize they were being lied to by the Biden administration.

So then Trump gets elected to fix things, he is opposed by the Left in cities and states that had so-called sanctuary laws, and he has been forced to use the powers of the federal government to override these impediments in order to restore safety and rule of law to our country.

So the Left's response is perfectly legal, and that was their "No Kings" protests. Essentially, the Left is opposed to reversing the Biden illegal migrant surge despite the will of the American people. This isn't totalitarianism, fascism, or any other "ism." It is common sense, it is democratic, and it must be done because that is how democracy works. The Left would prefer that Biden's reckless policies be beyond the will of the people to change.

They are now upset that Trump is willing to "break norms" to fix the problems they purposely caused because that will undo Biden's damage and the long-range plan of the Left to flood the country with illegal immigrants in order to affect future elections.

It's almost as if the Left wants voters to have collective amnesia. Forget about what Biden and Harris did, just look at Trump's actions alone. But they purposely ignore the fact that Trump's actions would not have been necessary had Biden followed and enforced our nation's immigration laws in the first place.

Yes, it has already arrived. When loyalty to a leader outweighs loyalty to truth or competence, corruption replaces merit, and propaganda replaces reason. Intellectuals are sidelined, science is politicized, and dissent is punished. Totalitarianism did not sneak in overnight, it walked through the front door while many cheered. Now conformity is sold as patriotism, and independent thought is treated as a threat to the state.
