To the editor:
The heart of the Mount Washington Valley has been on full display as we emerge from quarantine life and continue to care for our community.
The first ever Mini Golf Scramble for Jens Friends held June 12 at Pirate's Cove in North Conway was a fun time for all. Between the golf rounds and donations, the no-frills event was able to raise $13,500.00 and counting.
In March, the Jen’s Friends board made the decision to cancel the 12th annual Jen’s Friends Golf Tournament, the second largest fund raiser for the organization has historically been able to add $48,000 to help cancer families in the valley.
Josh Power and his family at Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf stepped forward to provide the next best thing, family fun with a great benefit. Pirates Cove offered up golf rounds with 100% of the proceeds going to Jens Friends and added the flexibility to use them through the month. The tickets where on sale June 1st to the 12th and valid for play until June 30th. Pre-purchased tickets that where not picked up on event day are at the Pirate's Cove Starter Shack through June 30.
To recognize the support Jen’s Friends receives from the business community, the tee sponsor signs from the 2019 golf tournament were displayed along both courses for the day.
Trails End Ice Cream trailer was on hand and offered a portion of their sales to the day.
You can still offer support for the event via the virtual donation jar available online at jensfriends.org through the month of June.
In the fight against cancer you can never have too many friends!
