Mark Nawrocki: Column on white and male privilege is unproductive

To the editor:

Alec Kerr paints an Oct. 12 column using the broken crayons of a child. I suppose one should pity him at having a crisis of identity at being a straight, white male. He needs to understand that most of us do not share his guilt and would appreciate his not foisting such emotions upon us. The insulting remarks “the only modeling boys had were … their own fathers and grandfathers talking about women in derogatory and objectifying ways” are ignorant in the extreme. A pathetic attempt to demean entire generations of men for political effect. Per your own admission, you had a difficult and shallow childhood, if this was your yardstick.
